Outreach
The Center for Excellence in Astrophysics and Associated Technologies (CATA) has a strong commitment with Public Outreach. Is our constant aim to communicate our scientific results among the Chilean society, and to share with the community (national and international) the progress of Astronomy in the world.
As part of that effort CATA has a Communications Area dedicated to spread the Astronomical achievements generated in our Center –using several 2.0 tools such our Website, Facebook Forums and Twitter- CATA also has an Outreach & Education division that works in the production of educational materials. CATA astronomers offer dozens of public Astronomy lectures each year and since 2011 CATA (along with FONDAP and Millennium for Supernova Science) is preparing several educational brochures in order to train Primary and Secondary teachers (in Chile) that includes the program subjects of the Chilean Ministry of Education.
