María Teresa Ruiz

She is currently the Director of the Center for Excellence in Astrophysics and Associated Technologies (CATA). Also, she is Professor at Universidad de Chile Department of Astronomy (DAS), where she has led a dozen of Graduate theses. Also, was director of DAS from 2001 to 2005.

In 1976 she studied a postdoctoral fellow at the Trieste Astronomical Observatory (Italy). Then (1977 - 1978) she participate as a Visiting Astronomer at "Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México", Astronomy Department and during 1978, and as Visiting Scientist at Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) NASA (New York, USA).
