• Professor of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. (Full Profesor Since 2006)
• Former Director of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile Astronomy and Astrophysics Department (2000-2006)
• Visiting astronomer at the European Southern Observatory (1990 and 2007) 
• Visiting Astronomer at Cerro Tololo Interamerican Observatory (1990)
• Visiting scientist at the Vatican Observatory in Castel Gandolfo, Italy (2007)
• Scientific Associate at the European Southern Observatory in Germany (2001).
• Professor Infante is currently director of the Centre for Astro-Engineering at Universidad Catolica of Chile and President of the Chilean Astronomical Society (SOCHIAS).
