Tom Richtler

Full Professor, Astronomy Department Universidad de Concepción (Chile).

Professor Richtler works on the dynamics of Early-Type Galaxies o ETG. One of his goals is to use the globular clusters system of a galaxy as a dynamic test of its gravitational potential in order to investigate the dark matter content. The combination of photometric and kinematic data will narrow the theories of galaxy formation. Richtler, also, has a particular interest in alternative theories such as MOND. Other of his interests are the initial mass function of the stars and massive stellar clusters.
