Neil Nagar

  • Associate Professor at Universidad de Concepción
  • Director of Radio Astronomy Laboratory at Universidad de Concepción

Neil Nagar‘s Research focuses mainly on two main areas:
The origin of high energy cosmic rays (UHECRs) and
The Accretion of massive black holes in galactic nuclei (called active galactic nuclei or AGN).

Professor Nagar study the impact of such AGNs (especially weak AGNs in nearby galaxies) their properties and evolution. He is also interested in the evolution of accretion activity as a function of redshift and along the fusion sequence (and possibly the final state of merging black holes).

In his work he mainly used high resolution radio observations (obtained with the Very Large Array and Very Long Baseline Array, operating in USA) and optical images and near-infrared spectroscopy obtained with several large telescopes.
