Ramiro Franco

In the course of my PhD I was awarded the predoctoral position at the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, during this time I worked for three years at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. In this period my research was mainly related to massive star formation and models of protoplanetary disks. The observational tools for mi research have been radio interferometer that provide the spacial resolution needed to study the star formation regions in detail. After graduation I did a postdoc at the University of Bonn, where I continued the mentioned research and also was part of the ALMA Regional Center node that provides user support to the astronomers from Germany and neighbouring countries. Currently I hold the ALMA-CONICYT fellowship where I am in charge of organizing the ALMA and APEX user support for the Chilean community.
